First Responder Subcommittee refers to the emergency response officials that have been chosen amongst their peers from throughout the state and across the disciplines to represent them in all response issues. There is no time limit on the positions.
During the 2008 legislative session, law makers designed and passed Act 797, which established the First Responder Subcommittee. This body of emergency responders was designed to provide planning and advise on issues identified by GOHSEP and the UCG and establishing advisory subcommittees for specific issues when required. The chairman of the subcommittee is appointed by the director of GOHSEP and all remaining officers shall be elected by and from the membership of the subcommittee.
